Asheville Yoga Center – Chronology After Training

I asked Michael Johnson the question after class posted here http://yogaray.org/asheville-yoga-center-question-after-class-from-jim-ray/

My last written communication with Michael Johnson on Sept. 13, 2020 around 12:30 PM when he agreed to be a reference for me as a yoga student was as follows:

Michael, I will email you later today with details. Thank you, sir! Namaste.

Here is the email I sent to Michael Johnson time stamped Mon 9/14/2020 10:36 AM regarding a character reference for criminal trial 9/22 for fabricated assault on female charge:

Michael,

I’ve had lots of “friends” not give me the time of day after getting falsely arrested last year, and would appreciate your help with a brief letter stating that I am a yoga student in good standing, about to get my RYT500, and that yoga is all about the way you live your life including non violence.

My own criminal lawyer wanted me to go through forensic psychological examination to see if I have the sanity to withstand trial. He said it in a conference call with my father. I told him he was fired, and hung up the phone. We kissed and made up.

If he or anyone else thinks I am crazy, all they need to do is ask, and I will tell them that hell yes I am crazy. Crazy about love and kindness.

I’ve got to go to a job site now, and would like to briefly discuss matters, and at least answer any questions you may have. Attached are 2 references that are good examples, and much appreciated.

Having you say I am a good student of yoga, and about to graduate with my second advanced teacher training certification from arguably the best yoga school around, Asheville Yoga Center, would carry some weight.

North Carolina has painted an ugly picture of me, and is about to get in a lot of trouble if they do not dismiss the case, and pay for damages. Even the lady at Franklin Correctional Center in the NC Department of Public Safety would not stand up for me, and I was a volunteer for NC Department of Public Safety to lead yoga for inmates that were murderers and rapists that I learned to call my brothers, and to treat them as such especially after my 2016 Prison Yoga teacher training at Asheville Yoga Center with James Fox that leads yoga at San Quentin.

Some unnamed district attorney insinuated my case would have been dismissed had I taken a plea bargain that entails 1 year of battery classes for a crime I did not commit, and I am most likely as qualified to lead those classes as anyone else they choose especially with my direct volunteer experience doing so with yoga. It also entailed 5 years of probation, a criminal arrest record, and lying to the judge to say I am guilty.

Regards,

Jim

email to Michael Johnson 9/14/2020

When I spoke with Michael Johnson about the details on Tuesday morning, 9/15/2020, he told me people complained, went back on his word to provide a reference for me, and said management would be contacting me.

I tried to communicate with one of the owners of Asheville Yoga Center, Sunny Keach, that had been a friend on Facebook, and he refused to get involved as evident from our Facebook Messenger exchange on Tuesday afternoon, 9/15/2020 at 1:34 PM:

People complaining behind my back constitutes slander. It was at that time that I lost my trust in Michael Johnson, and canceled my reservation for his next teacher training module in the following email sent to Carolyn Way in charge of programs at Asheville Yoga Center, and to Stephanie Keach, the other owner of Asheville Yoga Center:

subject: may i cancel the poly vagal training in October, and get a refund?

I am very disappointed after having a conversation with Michael Johnson this morning. I waited until after the teacher training session this weekend, asked permission to ask a question involving a reference for a fabricated charge, briefly discussed the details, and was told that people complained, and I would be contacted by management.

Unless you want a civil suit for slander, I suggest we work out a suitable arrangement for me to finish the training I started.

I’m sorry the truth hurts a little bit.

I will never go to one of his classes again, and really don’t care to go back to Asheville Yoga Center at all.

It has become an unsafe place for me, and the discussions that take place in a question/answer invitation should remain as confidential as necessary so people do feel safe.

I don’t need the judgement from Michael, you, or anyone else.

Regards,

Jim

Asheville Yoga Center would not answer phone calls or reply to email. I received a client termination letter the next day from Melissa Driver at Asheville Yoga Center that I have never met:

That letter from Melissa Driver to expel me from Asheville Yoga Center was attached to the following email that I sent to my criminal attorney in the trial on 9/22/2020 where I was found Not Guilty of Assault on Female, and my attorney recommended filing a civil suit against Asheville Yoga Center due to the actions of Michael Johnson, Melissa Driver, Sunny Keach, and Stephanie Keach:

Hey Jim:

Wow. They are not holding back are they?!

So, you are likely going to need to consult with a civil litigator regarding potential causes of action.

With such a clear termination, your relationship with them is definitely over. Only question left is if they owe you more money for the time and money you already spent on the training that is worthless to you without completion.

Let me know if you would like a referral.

Asheville Yoga Center has not worked out a suitable agreement, and I am seeking financial restitution.

Asheville Yoga Center – question after class from Jim Ray

After the Bhakti Yoga teacher training class was over, Michael Johnson, the instructor, said he would stick around to answer questions, or to have discussion. I let him know I had a question, waited patiently for 18 minutes for others to have the floor, asked him for a reference as a yoga student, and let him know why in this recording I made of our conversation:
